How It Works
How All-on-X Works and What Makes It Different From Other Options
All-on-X is a full-arch implant solution for patients who have lost most or all of the teeth in an upper or lower jaw, or who are facing significant tooth loss and want a fixed alternative to dentures. Rather than replacing each tooth individually, All-on-X uses a small number of implants placed at strategic angles in the jaw to support a full arch of fixed replacement teeth. The exact number of implants depends on what the assessment finds, including bone density, jaw anatomy, and overall oral health.
At Twilight Dental, every All-on-X case starts with a free consultation where Dr Ryan Liang assesses your situation, takes the scans and records needed, and explains what treatment would involve for you specifically. We do not move forward until you have a full picture of the process, the timeline, and the costs.
We see All-on-X patients from across the Ipswich area including Brassall, Leichhardt, Raceview, and Ripley. IV sedation is available for the procedure, administered by Mayukh Verma, our clinical nurse anaesthetist, working alongside Dr Liang throughout.
All-on-X is not right for everyone. We assess every patient individually and give you an honest recommendation based on what we find. If a different option suits your situation better, we will tell you.
Benefits
Why Patients Choose Twilight Dental for All-on-X Implants
Full Arch, Fewer Implants
All-on-X restores an entire arch using a small number of strategically placed implants rather than one per tooth. This makes full-arch implant treatment accessible to patients without sufficient bone for individual implants.
Fixed, Not Removable
Unlike dentures, All-on-X teeth are fixed to implants and do not come out. You clean them in place, they stay stable when you eat and speak, and you manage them as part of your mouth rather than separately.
FICOI Qualified Implant Dentist
Dr Ryan Liang holds a Fellowship of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a qualification focused on implant dentistry. The clinical background behind your All-on-X case matters and his credentials reflect that.
IV Sedation Included
IV sedation is available for All-on-X procedures, administered by Mayukh Verma, our clinical nurse anaesthetist. You remain relaxed throughout a procedure that most patients could not manage under local anaesthetic alone.
Free Initial Consultation
Every All-on-X patient receives a free consultation before any treatment is planned. We take the scans we need, explain the process in detail, and give you a full cost breakdown before any decisions are made.
Full Treatment in One Location
The consultation, planning, implant placement, and prosthetic fitting all happen at our Brassall clinic. You do not need to manage referrals between different practices or travel to a separate surgical facility for any stage of the treatment.

What to Expect
What the All-on-X Process Looks Like at Twilight Dental
Free Consultation and Treatment Plan
At your free consultation, Dr Liang examines your mouth, takes the scans needed to assess your bone structure and jaw anatomy, and walks you through what All-on-X would involve for your situation. We cover the full process, timeline, and cost before anything is agreed to.
Implant Placement Under Sedation
On the day of your procedure, Mayukh Verma administers IV sedation and monitors you throughout while Dr Liang places the implants and attaches a set of provisional teeth. You leave the clinic with fixed teeth in place rather than a gap. A healing period follows before the permanent prosthesis is fitted.
Final Fitting and Ongoing Care
Once the implants have integrated with the bone, we fit your permanent prosthesis and check the bite, the fit and your comfort carefully before the appointment is complete. We then put together an ongoing care schedule to monitor the implants and prosthesis over time.
Why Twilight Dental
Why Choose Twilight Dental for All-on-X Implants?
All-on-X is one of the most involved procedures in dentistry. The planning, the surgical precision and the prosthetic work all need to come together correctly for the treatment to function well long term. At Twilight Dental, Dr Ryan Liang holds both a Fellowship of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. These are not general dentistry qualifications they reflect a specific and sustained focus on implant dentistry at a complex level.
We also have Mayukh Verma, our clinical nurse anaesthetist, available for every All-on-X procedure. IV sedation for a procedure of this length and complexity is not an optional add-on for us it is part of how we run these appointments because it is the appropriate standard of care for what the patient is going through.
We offer a free consultation, give you a complete cost breakdown before any treatment begins and handle the full treatment cycle at our Brassall clinic. If you have been told elsewhere that you are not a candidate for implants, call us. Bone deficiency is not always a barrier to All-on-X and it is worth having your specific situation assessed before ruling it out.
The Planning Process
Why the Planning Stage Is the Most Important Part of All-on-X
The outcome of any All-on-X procedure depends more on what happens before the surgery than on the day itself. Accurate imaging, a thorough assessment of bone volume and density, careful implant positioning on the scan and a prosthetic plan that accounts for your bite and jaw mechanics are all essential before a single implant is placed. At Twilight Dental, we use detailed scanning and take the time to work through the plan carefully at your consultation rather than committing to a surgical date before the preparation is complete.
This matters particularly for patients who have had teeth missing for some time, as bone resorption changes the anatomy of the jaw and affects where implants can be safely and effectively placed. We assess this at your consultation and factor it into the treatment plan. If bone grafting or additional preparation is needed before implants can be placed, we tell you that clearly at the outset rather than discovering it on the day of surgery.

Before You Book
Who Is a Suitable Candidate for All-on-X Dental Implants?
All-on-X suits patients who have lost most or all of the teeth in a jaw, patients whose remaining teeth are failing and cannot be saved and patients who are currently wearing full dentures and want a fixed alternative. Good general health is important because implant placement is a surgical procedure and certain medical conditions or medications can affect healing and suitability. Adequate bone volume is needed to support the implants, though the angled placement used in All-on-X often allows treatment to proceed with less bone than individual implants would require. Smoking significantly affects implant success rates and is something we discuss honestly at your consultation. If you are not sure whether you are a candidate, the only reliable way to find out is a proper clinical assessment. Call us and book a free consultation and we will give you a clear answer based on your specific situation.

FAQ
Common Questions About All-on-X Dental Implants
What is All-on-X and how does it work?
All-on-X is a full-arch implant solution that uses a small number of strategically placed implants to support a complete set of fixed replacement teeth. The implants are angled to maximise contact with available bone, which often makes All-on-X possible for patients who do not have enough bone for individual implants across the whole jaw. The exact number of implants depends on your bone structure and anatomy, which we assess at your consultation.
How long does All-on-X treatment take?
The full process from consultation through to the permanent prosthesis typically takes several months. The consultation and planning phase comes first, followed by the implant placement procedure. A healing period is then required for the implants to integrate with the bone before the permanent prosthesis is fitted. We give you a detailed timeline at your consultation once we have assessed your specific situation.
Is All-on-X painful?
The procedure is carried out under IV sedation at Twilight Dental, administered by our clinical nurse anaesthetist, so you are deeply relaxed throughout. Some discomfort and swelling in the days following surgery is normal. We provide clear aftercare instructions and appropriate medication to manage the recovery period. Most patients find the post-operative experience more manageable than they expected going in.
How much do All-on-X dental implants cost in Ipswich?
All-on-X is a significant investment and the cost depends on the complexity of your case, the number of implants required and the type of prosthesis fitted. We provide a complete cost breakdown at your free consultation before any treatment is planned. Prices are a guide only and subject to individual clinical assessment.
What is the difference between All-on-X and dentures?
Dentures are removable and rest on the gum surface, which can affect stability, comfort and eating ability over time. All-on-X teeth are fixed to implants in the bone and do not move. They function more like natural teeth, require no adhesive and are cleaned in place. The bone integration of the implants also helps preserve jaw bone volume over time, which dentures do not.
